Brace yourself for a barrage of new models and concept cars ahead of next week’s Paris Motor Show. Infiniti were quick off the mark, trying to get its new product out before it is lost in a sea of other concept cars.
The Q80 Inspiration is a four-seat fastback that aims squarely at the likes of Mercedes’ CLS, BMW’s Gran Coupe 6 Series and Aston Martin’s Rapide models. More than its eye-catching looks Infiniti will be giving the media insight into the high-performance, efficient hybrid-electric powertrain and an advanced adaptive suspension when launched next week.
“After showing Q30 Concept and Q50 Eau Rouge, Infiniti is eager to show the upper range of our portfolio expansion,” says Infiniti executive design director, Alfonso Albaisa. “In Q80 Inspiration, we wanted to capture that unforgettable feeling when you experience something important, something beautiful, something magnetic for the first time.”
A full length roof and teardrop-shaped passenger greenhouse is accentuated by lightweight acoustic glass. Its doors open portal style which allows the cabin to be fully on display while driver and passengers step in and out with ease.
The Q80 Inspiration four-door fastback is to be taken as clear intent of the brand’s entry into the premium fastback segment.
