KIA TEASE WITH CONCEPT CAR IMAGES

Ahead of the upcoming Detroit Motor Show, Kia have given us a glimpse of a new concept sports car they will be unveiling. It’s called the Kia GT4 Stinger.

Whether it is just a styling exercise or the forerunner of an actual production car, this is an interesting car for the Korean giants. From what we can see, it bears little resemblance to the current line-up of Peter Schreyer-penned cars. It  has the latest version of their “tiger nose” grille, but that’s where the similarity to the current cars ends. Those vertical LED lights make it look more like an Audi R8 was its progenitor.

Power will come from a turbocharged 2.0-litre engine which is Kia say will feed 235 kW to the rear wheels. The car has a 2+2 layout with front-brake cooling vents funnel air around custom 20-inch wheels while a carbon fiber front splitter adds downforce.

Kia won’t say if they intend putting the GT4 Stinger into production instead declaring it “intended to turn heads while delivering superb driving enjoyment on both road and track.”
