In typical concourse fashion, entrants and their vehicles are judged not on the outright speed their machines may be capable of but rather on the authenticity and elegance on which they embue towards spectators and more importantly, judges. Typically brimmed with classics and pre-war models, there is normally no shortage of variety and timeless beauty present at a concours event. With the concept of the Concours d’Elegance dating back to 17th century France when the aristocracy would parade their horse-drawn carriages through the parks of Paris, not a lot has changed… minus the horses. With the advent of the automobile, Concours d’Elegance events evolved into competitions between automobile manufacturers, custom coachbuilders, and owners, whose vehicles were judged on the beauty of their design.
