June is truly the month of the year for motoring enthusiasts. Apart from the Isle of Man TT motorcycle races and the Le Mans 24-hour endurance race, later this month the Goodwood Festival of Speed will take place in the UK.
Set in England, Bentley has decided to launch its newest model at this spectacular event. Last year, the company showed its Continental GT3 race car at Goodwood, and this year the British-based company will reveal one of its most focused cars to date.
Taking some of the weight-saving elements from the race car means the new production car could feature rear-wheel drive, while the implementation of carbon-fibre in the body will help to lower weight even further. It seems the V8 engine will also be tuned to deliver in excess of 500 kW!
Pictures of a test mule have indicated that the car will also receive a few aerodynamic tweaks, including a fixed rear wing. According to sources, only 30 of these “Continental GT3s” will be available for the UK market, while a limited number will be shipped to other markets.
