Lexus has unveiled the all-new LBX ( Lexus Breakthrough Crossover), a compact SUV that marks a significant milestone for the brand in Europe as their smallest model yet.
With its striking exterior design, advanced hybrid technology, and impressive specifications, the LBX is set to redefine the compact SUV segment.
Measuring 4 190 mm in length, 1 825 mm in width, and 1 545 mm in height, the LBX offers a compact and agile profile. With a curb weight of 1 280 kg, it achieves a balance between manoeuvrability and stability.
The LBX provides a trunk capacity of 332 litres, ensuring ample storage space, and has a towing capacity of 750 kg, adding versatility to its capabilities.
Powering the LBX is a responsive 1,5-litre three-cylinder petrol engine, delivering a total system output of 100 kW and a peak torque of 185 Nm. Its Electronic Continuously Variable Transmission enables smooth and efficient acceleration, with a 0 to 100 km/h time of 9,2 seconds. The LBX’s turning circle of 10,4 meters ensures easy navigation in urban environments.

The LBX features a new generation of Lexus hybrid electric system, incorporating a compact and lightweight 1,5-litre engine. The redesigned hybrid components, including the transaxle and power control unit, enhance efficiency and performance.
Additionally, the LBX is equipped with a bi-polar nickel-metal hydride (NiMH) battery, providing quick response and supporting instant acceleration. This technology allows for a dynamic driving experience while maximizing fuel efficiency.
Inside the LBX, a fully digital user interface offers convenient control of the driver’s display and multimedia system. The focus during development was on achieving nimble driving dynamics without excessive reliance on electronic controls, resulting in an engaging and responsive driving experience.
The LBX’s aerodynamic design, low-slung bonnet, and wide tracks contribute to its agility, stability, and fuel efficiency.
To ensure a refined and comfortable ride, Lexus has implemented measures to reduce noise and vibration (NVH) levels in the LBX. Through the addition of a balancer shaft to the engine and the use of damping sheets in the doors, the cabin provides a serene environment for occupants.

Despite being underpinned by Toyota’s Yaris Cross, the design of the LBX reflects Lexus’ commitment to sleek aesthetics and modernity. The unified trapezoid grille and slim headlight units create a distinct presence, while the sporty profile is accentuated by the flared wings and bold rear design.
The relocation of the license plate to the bumper highlights the clean lines and emphasizes the LEXUS-lettered signature on the back door.
Inside the LBX, the driver’s cockpit follows the Tazuna concept, offering a user-friendly layout. The introduction of a 12,3-inch fully digital instrument display, adaptable to different drive modes, enhances the driving experience.
The position and angle of the steering wheel are carefully designed to provide optimal control and comfort. Optional features, such as the head-up display, further enhance convenience and safety.
