Embracing the trend towards subcompact SUVs, the Mini Aceman offers a spacious cabin, positioning itself as a versatile option within its segment. With four trims available – Essential, Classic, Favoured, and JCW – each denoted by their oblong-shaped badges and featuring alloy wheels ranging from 17 to 19 inches. The range-topping JCW trim stands out with unique design elements such as Chili Red accents and high-gloss black finishes.
Oliver Heilmer, Head of MINI Design, describes the Aceman as a vehicle with its own distinct personality, catering to those who value individuality in urban settings. Its compact dimensions, measuring 4 075 mm in length, 1 754 mm in width, and 1 495 mm in height, position it squarely within the subcompact SUV segment, offering a balance between urban practicality and road presence.
Inside, the Aceman mirrors the familiar layout of the Cooper, featuring a central 9.44-inch circular OLED touchscreen that serves as the primary interface for various functions. Complementing the touchscreen are intuitive toggle switches for essential controls. The MINI Operating System 9 infotainment system, inspired by smartphones, introduces the Intelligent Personal Assistant named “Spike,” providing seamless integration and user-friendly operation.
A highlight of the interior is the Mini Experience Modes, offering eight selectable options to tailor the driving experience to personal preferences. Each mode alters the interior ambience through unique graphics displayed on the screen and illuminated patterns emitted from projector units. Premium materials such as knitted dashboard trim, recycled polyester door panels and a choice of upholstery options ensure a luxurious yet sustainable cabin experience.
Safety features abound in the Aceman, with twelve ultrasonic sensors and four Surround View cameras supporting an advanced driver assistance suite. From the Driving Assistant Plus to Remote Parking, Mini has equipped the Aceman with cutting-edge technology to enhance safety and convenience on the road.
Under the surface, the Aceman shares its electric powertrain with the Cooper Electric, offering two variants: the entry-level Aceman E and the more potent Aceman SE. The former boasts a single electric motor producing 135 kW and 290 N.m of torque paired with a 40.7 kWh battery pack, delivering a range of 310 km. Meanwhile, the Aceman SE features a more powerful motor generating 160 kW and 330 N.m of torque paired with a larger 54.2 kWh battery, providing an extended range of 406 km. Both models promise spirited performance and agile handling, staying true to Mini’s reputation for driving fun.
Production of the Aceman is set to commence in China before expanding to Mini’s Oxford plant in the UK in 2026, marking another milestone in Mini’s electrification journey.
