The new Toyota Aygo makes its debut at the Geneva Motor Show this week.
Taking its theme of fresh and funky styling to a new level, the new Aygo looks ninja-like in appearance with angular headlights, a trapezoidal air intake and a very distinctive “X” mark running across the front end. At the back, there’s the large glass window with sharp taillamps and a big rear bumper. Internationally, there’s a choice between a three- and five-door body style.
Under the bonnet is a 51 kW three-cylinder 1,0-litre engine with 95 N.m. This unit returns a fuel consumption figure of 4,1 litres/100 km and emits 95 g/km of CO2.
Toyota also offers an upgraded interior in the new model with a trapezoidal center console and the Japanese company’s new x-touch multimedia system with a 7-inch touchscreen.
Expect the Aygo and it’s French competitors, the Peugeot 108 and Citroen C1, to reach SA before the end of the year.
