The new VW Polo has been on sale in South Africa for all of five minutes, and it would appear as though it has already been involved in a bit of an internet-breaking, social media-sparking incident.
A Durban woman is reported to have driven a fresh-faced, new VW Polo straight through a showroom window, causing a bit of a stir. This brings to mind the story of a Cape Town woman who decided that she’d like her Jaguar F-Type SVR to join her for lunch at an upmarket Constantia restaurant. As one might imagine, it didn’t fit particularly well, taking with it a pot plant, a bollard and of course, the driver’s dignity.

Paramedics were called to the Polo scene shortly after the incident, and Emer-G Med Paramedics confirmed that there were no serious injuries. One of the paramedics noted that he was unsure as to whether the vehicle had been purchased by the woman in her thirties, or if she was just taking it for a very particular sort of test drive…
