The Dodge Charger is one of the most iconic muscle cars of all-time and for resto-modders it’s often a popular platform to use for projects. This custom Dodge Charger by Mopar, dubbed the Hellephant, boasts a modern 426 Hemi engine supercharged to 746 kW and 1 288 N.m of torque.
To accommodate this power the Hellephant has been fitted with a sturdy T-6060 manual six-speed gearbox from the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat. Stopping power is provided by a set of six-piston Brembo brakes for the front and rear axles.
The aggressive wide body kit is cast of fibreglass and stretches the wheelbase by 50,8 mm. Aggression is added by the 20-inch front and 21-inch rear Devil alloy wheels and is complemented by a height drop of 63,5 mm in the front and 88,9 mm on the rear.
According to Mopar this 426 Hemi is the first OEM 1 000 horsepower crate engine kit offered to consumers. The all-aluminium block beasts a bore and stroke of 104,78 mm x 101,6 mm as well as an improved supercharger with a high-efficiency rotor.
The engine assembly includes a water pump, flywheel, front sump oil pan, throttle body, fuel injectors and coil packs. Additionally the kit comes with valve covers from the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat and a valve train, valves, locks and retainers sourced from the Demon. The high-lift cams and forged pistons are custom. This engine can be used on pre-1976 street and off-road vehicles.
